How Forward Intermodal secured its critical Baltimore hub

SEE HOW SMART SECURITY IS KEEPING
SUPPLY CHAINS MOVING.

Forward Intermodal runs a key logistics hub in Baltimore—an essential gateway for container shipments across the U.S. Keeping the perimeter secure is critical to avoid disruptions from intrusions or false alarms that can delay operations.

To tackle these challenges, Quantum Crossing, Forward's trusted integrator, installed 700 meters (2,300 feet) of SIOUX PRO2 fence-mounted intrusion detection sensors. Thanks to the system’s plug & play design, the install was fast—taking less than an hour with no special tools or downtime required.

To secure vehicle access at the main gate, two MURENA PLUS short-range radar units (covering 24 meters each) were added. The entire setup was integrated into Johnson Controls, streamlining alarm management, via Forward’s existing infrastructure.

Dan Spencer, Security Systems Manager at Forward, shared his confidence in the solution:

“From our very first conversation with CIAS, we knew the SIOUX PRO2 system was the right fit. Since deployment, the performance and support have been first class—just like the system itself".

The combination of advanced sensor technology, quick installation and maintenance, and seamless integration has enabled Forward Intermodal to protect its Baltimore Hub with a trusted, high-performance perimeter security system—one that supports daily operations with maximum reliability and peace of mind.
