Vertiports: the future of mobility takes off safely
Did you know that the future of urban mobility has already taken off?
Discover it in this use case.
The new frontier of alternative transportation in global cities is Urban Air Mobility (UAM). By using electric or hybrid eVTOLs (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) and VTOLs—passenger air taxis—and drones for deliveries and light cargo transport, city traffic will be alleviated, deliveries will be faster, and surface transport congestion, noise, and emissions will be reduced, contributing to a sustainable future.
Urban Air Mobility is already a reality, with eVTOLs and drones ready to revolutionize the way people and goods move within cities.
Vertiports are the infrastructures for VTOL take-off and landing. They include passenger loading/unloading areas, charging stations, and equipment for drone battery maintenance and replacement. Usually located near key surface transport hubs such as train or metro stations, or on the rooftops of large parking lots or shopping centers, vertiports must be accessible via aerial corridors and undergo thorough evaluation regarding location, routes, and safety features approved by regulatory authorities like ENAC (Italy’s National Civil Aviation Authority) and others.
