ERMO482X3PRO

ERMO482X3PRO is a bi-static microwave barrier (transmitter & receiver) with digital signal analysis (for ranges of 50, 80, 120, 200, 250, and 500 meters), and equipped with an internal microprocessor that analyzes the received signals using Fuzzy Logic algorithms (that can rule out a very high majority of false alarms).

It uses parabolic antenna technology, which ensures excellent signal clarity even over long distances. This is why this model can reach up to 500 meters of detection range.

It is the ideal solution for protecting high-risk sites such as nuclear power plants, prisons, military bases, petrochemical industries, etc.


Using the CIAS WAVE TEST software or the CIAS TUNER web server, it can be configured and monitored remotely.

Environmental Adaptability

It is designed to withstand and operate flawlessly in any atmospheric or climatic condition.

For this reason, it is often used in critical infrastructure and high-level applications where reliable performance must be ensured even under extreme conditions: sandstorms, rain, snow, and temperatures ranging from -30°C to +70°C.

Digital Fuzzy Logic Analysis – FBM (Fuzzy-logic Behavioral Model)

ERMO 482X3PRO uses Fuzzy Logic-based algorithms to analyze signals in real time by comparing them with typical behavioral intrusion models (Fuzzy Behavioural Models). It evaluates the shape, size, and pattern of the signal, distinguishing between walking, rolling, running, crawling, or even standing still. Each event is logged with a timestamp and can be reviewed in the barrier’s internal memory.

Thanks to this advanced digital analysis, the barrier provides superior detection performance and drastically reduces false alarms compared to traditional intrusion detection systems.

Advanced Detection Features - FSTD

In the presence of constant lateral disturbances—such as unstable metal fences, invasive vegetation, or movements parallel to the beam—the FSTD function ( Fuzzy Side Target Discrimination) can be activated via software. This technology reduces or eliminates unwanted signals from the beam’s lateral edges, optimizing reception and delivering high detection quality.

Digital dynamic anti-masking function

The digital dynamic anti-masking function works by analyzing the absolute value of the received signal stored during installation. Combined with its 16 crystal-controlled channels, it easily identifies any masking or sabotage attempt effectively.

Additionally, the device features an integrated electronic alignment aid, which gives an evaluation of the installation accuracy upon completion of the alignment procedure.

ERMO482X3PRO ATEX protects the perimeter of high-risk explosion environments, such as oil refineries, chemical plants and distilleries through having the microwave placed inside an explosion-proof housing. Using microwave technology combined with EExd IIC T6 certified explosion-proof housings, these systems provide the highest level of safety in accordance with the ATEX 94/9/EC directive.

Available in 60 m and 125 m versions, the ERMO482X3PRO60 ATEX and ERMO482X3PRO125 ATEX models offer high reliability in extreme environmental conditions, ensuring accurate and continuous detection even in the presence of atmospheric disturbances or metal structures.

A temporary and rapidly deployable protection system

MMD System is a portable perimeter security system that uses tripod-mounted Fuzzy Logic-based digital microwave barriers to create invisible detection zones for temporary surveillance of at-risk sites. Ideal applications include construction sites (to protect equipment & machinery), critical infrastructure, and military sites; the system covers a distance of 200 meters and detects any intrusion attempt, transmitting the alarm via radio signal up to one kilometer away thanks to a special high-range antenna. The system is battery operated (with battery requiring recharge after 10 days*).

It also features armored cables and military-grade metal connectors, ensuring robustness and reliability even in harsh environmental conditions. It comes packaged in a reinforced metal case with wheels for easy transport. Power is provided by a built-in battery with up to 10 days of operation before recharging.

This plug and play systems takes about 20 minutes to set up and requires no tools, thanks to the built-in bubble, and adjustment knob. *CIAS recommends that a back-up battery pack is purchased with the MMD system for coverage when charging is underway with system’s battery.
