OUR HISTORY, OUR JOURNEY
1974
The three partners Vincenzo De Astis, Giuseppe Leonardi, and Bruno Gasparini followed their intuition and brought a dream to life by founding the company in Milan.
1975
The first prototype of an outdoor microwave barrier is developed.
1980
The first microwave radio link for data and video transmission over distances of up to 40 km is created.
1986
The company expands with the opening of a new production facility in Olgiate Molgora (LC).
1988
The first major innovation: the company produces its first digital barriers using Fuzzy Logic digital analysis for both indoor and outdoor use.
1995
We go international: our first barrier is sold outside of Italy, within the EMEA region.
2011
Always keeping up with the times, we make our digital systems integrable with IP video systems through the FULL IP protocol.
2012
In collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, CIAS R&D develops the world’s first fence system using MEMS sensors.

Management
The capacity for evolution of a company does not mean forgetting its history. The second generation of entrepreneurs, who have been at the helm of CIAS for several years, has taken the torch from their fathers and continued to grow a business that has remained a benchmark in the perimeter security market for five decades, to further enhance its international character. Fabrizio and Raffaele are focused on innovation while staying true to the company’s original deep-rooted values. Their sense of humor is a secret weapon in their management style—but don’t tell the competition!
Global Sales
With a view to world markets, the team elegantly promotes the “Made in CIAS” brand. Matteo, Andrea, Eric, Fabio, Sandro and Manuel—each with a unique background but all with solid experience in the security sector. Skilled and attentive to market needs, they are personally invested in every project, large or small. They help customers navigate the wide range of available solutions, highlighting the best choice for each real-life scenario. Equally at ease during on-site inspections, training workshops, or sporting events like tennis, basketball, running, or soft-air, their versatility is appreciated by colleagues and customers.
Service
Luca, Francesco, Enrico and Stefano—our Service team—never stand still. They support client projects near and far via phone, email, TeamViewer, and, when necessary, on-site.
They may be few in number, but they have expansive experience, patience, and passion. Throughout the year, they offer technical training and product workshops both in Italy and abroad, fully aware that a successful overall system begins with correct planning and a proper installation. Their first question is always: “Have you read the manual?”
Back-office and Internal Sales
Our behind the scenes team, takes care of every order from A to Z, oversees deliveries, organizes events, discreetly handles the most demanding requests, and sometimes even performs miracles in urgent situations.
Their role is transitional yet crucial, constantly liaising between Customer and Company and internally between departments and branch offices, always with professionalism and a light touch. Lorella is the first smiling face to greet you at CIAS Milan, should you come to visit us.
Marketing
Antonella and Eleonora always have their radar on, looking for the best ways to tell the CIAS story to the world: through graphics, text, trade shows, websites, gadgets, social media campaigns, newsletters, videos, and events—ideas flow even over coffee… or while rushing between deadlines.
They continuously find new ways to turn technology into understandable stories, making visible what often remains behind the scenes.
Their mission? To give voice and image to the company’s identity—because communication isn’t just about talking, it’s about feeling.
Lab R&D and ICT
The brains and technological heart of CIAS. We owe the unique and innovative features of our products to the dedication of these intuitive minds.
Compact and close-knit, they “play” silently among electronic circuits and anechoic chambers, immersed in fuzzy logic and IP networks.
Surprisingly, they come alive during company happy hours, where some of them translate algorithms into lively vocal or guitar performances.
Administration and Purchasing
Rosario, Felice, Fabiola and Jacopo—the keepers of the books—maintain the company’s economic course, keeping everything perfectly organized.
This department is animated by the quiet warmth of the South and the fast pace of the North, two opposing forces that energize this seemingly calm office.
They are responsible for balancing what comes in and goes out, carefully selecting suppliers and collaborators, and keeping a clear view of the famous and unforgiving facts & figures—without ever losing the human touch, which is what ultimately enlivens a company like ours, made up of distinct yet united personalities.
Production
Located near Lake Lecco, meet The Producers. More than a team, they’re a family: some have been with CIAS since the beginning, some joined very young, and others came from afar—each with their own sporting or artistic passion, and all highly collaborative.
Highly specialized, they bring each product to life, test it, and finally send it on its way—and if it runs into trouble, they repair it.
