WITH MICRO-RAY TECHNOLOGY

THE SITE

The site subject of the intervention is located in Lombardy, has a perimeter of about 800 meters and covers an area of ​​about 22,000 square meters, within which prestigious new cars for sale are kept, in addition to the cars of customers in transit for the maintenance. The need is to protect the perimeter from intrusions to avoid the removal of parts from the cars kept on the aprons, as well as, of course, their theft.

THE PROJECT

The security project concerned the replacement of the pre-existing anti-climbing systems placed on the walls and fences that were old and inadequate.
As a matter of fact the active infrared technology used was not sufficient to guarantee security being subject to climatic conditions, so that the site often remained unprotected, for instance in case of fog.

The Micro-Ray barrier model used for the Mercedes dealership in Italy is the 1m column version with 2 microwave beams.

THE CHALLENGE

The main plant engineering challenge was constituted by the very narrow perimeter areas, delimited by the presence of road traffic just outside the dealership as well as by the presence of lighting poles of the square immediately inside.This condition had originally determined the choice of a technology with directional Infrared beams on a volumetric lobe, such as in traditional microwave barriers, which on the other hand are far more stable technology in terms of signal and totally immune to atmospheric events.

THE SOLUTION

Available on the market since 2019, the Micro-Ray barrier represented the ideal solution to the complexity of the site, as its unique features allow it to fully meet customer needs. Since in this innovative barrier the microwave outcome is in linear rays, its placement in narrow spaces is not an issue. At the same time, adverse weather conditions such as storms and heavy fog are not a problem for its detection performance.
