CIAS runs the Milan Marathon Relay: a team journey towards April 12th

ISC East at the Javits Center

CIAS has begun the journey that will lead us to the major event of the Milan Marathon Relay, scheduled for April 12.

This year we will take part with three teams of runners, supported by a fourth special team: the supporters. This initiative goes beyond simple sports participation and represents a concrete way for us to live and share the values that guide our work every day: perseverance, collaboration, mutual support and team spirit.

Within each team, everyone—with their own pace and personal goal—will run towards the same finish line together. By training consistently, coordinated by our outstanding Italian national team coach—who also leads our HR department—and supported by the encouragement of colleagues who are not running, we will quite literally put into practice what we strive to build every day in our company: a team that grows together, step by step.

The relay: running together towards a common goal

The Milan Marathon Relay is a team race in which several runners take turns covering the 42 km course through the city, passing some of Milan’s most iconic landmarks.

The different relay legs allow runners with varying levels of experience to participate and contribute to the final result.

The CIAS Runners: three teams, one finish line

Divided into three teams—Road Runners, Speedy Gonzales and Flash—our colleagues are training with determination for the relay, sharing kilometers, effort and motivation.

The protagonists of this adventure are:

Felice, our outstanding Italian national team coach and CIAS team captain, together with Jacopo, Romano, Enrico N., Samuele, Chiara M., Laura C., Eleonora, Sandro, Fabio P., Beppe, Raffaele and Fabio C.

A diverse group that brings together experienced runners, enthusiasts and colleagues who have decided to take on this challenge for the very first time.

The fourth team: the Supporters

Alongside the runners, there is another equally important team: the Supporters.

In addition to taking care of the logistical and organizational preparation of the event, their role will be to cheer on their colleagues along the marathon route, organize the cheering activities and help make this experience truly memorable.

As our CEO Raffaele de Astis, a veteran of the New York Marathon, reminded us:

“From my personal experience, I can assure you that knowing you have supporters—and even more, seeing and hearing them—gives you that extra boost that helps you take one more step forward, with your head held high and even more energy.”

Running for a cause: the charity project

Participating in the relay is not just about sport.

Once again this year, the race supports a charitable initiative. We have chosen to support the Fondazione Amici del Trivulzio, contributing to the therapeutic and recreational activities of the Alzheimer Garden, a dedicated space for patients where activities such as horticultural therapy, pet therapy and music therapy take place.

Every kilometer we run, every cheer along the route and every gesture of participation will help support these initiatives.

On April 12, we will run, cheer and celebrate together.

Stay tuned. 🏃‍♂️
